What are  templates and how do they help ?

To understand what templates are you need to understand a little of how a website is built. This is a little technical but in essence there are 3 parts that form the basis of most websites and these are :-

• The Model

  Where the information is stored and how it is accessed.

• The View

  How the information is presented to the users (your customers).

• The Controller

  The code that controls the logic and flow of the pages. (ie. how the pages link together, what information should be displayed and when etc).

Many bespoke websites mix all these three parts of the design together which makes them extremely difficult to change, test and deploy and so they remain specific to each company or business. Our design however keeps all three parts completely separate which makes building and changing the website very easy indeed.

So to answer the original question, templates are used for the second part of the website design, ie. The View, to display the information. The templates we use are tried and tested so you can be sure that they will function correctly. They are also extremely flexible allowing the look and feel of the site to be changed with no impact on the content of the website.
